"Make Fremont County the most film-friendly county in Colorado by removing friction for productions, amplifying local stories and locations, and delivering real economic value to residents and businesses."
We strive to empower filmmakers with a comprehensive, award‑winning database of film locations, streamlined permit processes, and dedicated local support—ensuring your production not only runs smoothly but also captures the true essence of Colorado's grandeur.
"To be the premier film destination in North America, where the majesty of the Royal Gorge converges with cinematic artistry, creating a legacy of iconic productions that inspire and captivate global audiences."
By continually elevating our region's profile through innovative services and unparalleled local expertise, we set the stage for unforgettable film experiences that resonate on a global scale.
Benjamin Black is a Cañon City native and Colorado filmmaker and has been named Fremont County Film Commissioner. He is leading efforts to bring film and television production back to the region, embracing the film heritage of the area.
Through his work, Black is launching the Royal Gorge Film Commission to help position Fremont County as a film-ready destination while building a sustainable economic pipeline that supports local businesses, showcases regional locations, and expands workforce opportunities.
Under Black’s leadership, the Royal Gorge Film Commission is now housed within the Royal Gorge Chamber Alliance Foundation, in collaboration with Foundation leadership, Executive Director, Rich Millard. This partnership establishes a long-term framework to coordinate productions, promote local assets, and connect visiting crews with the services and talent available across Fremont County.
